Visit Bangkok – Capital of Thailand

Krung Thep is Thailand's name in Bangkok. The Thais are never called the lovely capital of Bangkok. In fact, they say that people in remote areas of Thailand have not heard of Bangkok at all. The capital of Thailand, Krung Thep lies on the east coast of Chao Phraya River, forty kilometers from the Gulf of Thailand. The population of the city is around 10.068.000.

Ayutthaya was the old capital of Thailand. After 417 years, the capital was moved to Bangkok or Krung Thepba in 1782 before King I. Rama. The conquering countries were the main target of the capital of Osi and struggled to defend their borders with several wars. King Rama chose to move the capital to a safer place and decided that nothing could be safer and safer than Krung Thep. So the capital was moved to Krung Thep. The king felt that this place would be difficult to penetrate, as the hostile army had to go through the river to get into the city and it would be difficult for them.

Krung Thep is a short form of current Bangladeshi name. The actual length of the city is so long that the longest place in the world is recorded in the Guinness Book. The full name;

Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosi Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amón Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit.

This name is roughly as follows:

a non-descriptive city of the world's capital with nine precious gems in a happy city in an intimate royal palace resembling a heavenly residence dominated by the reincarnated god built by Indra and built by Vishnukarn.
