Holidays in Egypt can be more than enough to keep the conversations going for a long time. Here is a guide to some of the most important tourist attractions in North Africa.
Valley of the Kings
In Luxor, on the west coast of the Nile, the Valley of the Kings occupies many historical sites. There are more than 60 tombs and more than 120 chambers of the Kings Valley. The Pharaohs were buried here, and they thought that they were the place where they hoped to meet their gods in the afterlife. You will also find the area where Tutankhamen's tomb was discovered. Unfortunately, most of the tombs are not open to the public. It is a truly unique place and still a popular place for archaeological excavation and since the 18th century. One of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, and in 1979 it is a World Heritage Site.
Luxor Church
The Luxor Temple is in the center of Luxor, so if you are heading towards Luxor, don't miss it. The church was built around 1400BC, especially to celebrate Opet's annual festival. You look at this place with respect, as you realize it was over 3000 years ago. It comes in the evening if you see the complex illuminates spectacularly. The church is certainly worth a visit.
Karnak Temple
This huge complex of ruined temples, columns and chapels is located near Luxor. In history, the most important places of worship in ancient Egypt have been reported. Everything here is decorated with hieroglyphs and looks spectacular. You will also find historical performances and sound and light events that tell much more about the history of the Karnak Churches.
The Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum is located in Cairo, where over 120,000 treasure objects are found around Egypt. It is imperative that you come to the museum, as this is likely to be one of Egypt's busiest sights. Here you will find treasures discovered in the graves and over 20 actual mummies in the Royal Mummy Room. However, the star attraction here is the tomb of Tutankhamen and all the treasures buried with him. Usually a good crowd is visible on the king's head. This mask weighs 24.5 parts by weight of solid gold, and the front face seems to be very similar to the kings face.
Great Sphinx of Giza
The Great Sphinx is one of the largest statues made of stone. The lion and the head of the human head were believed to have been built by the ancient Egyptians around 3000. The entire sphinx was only completely separated in the 1920s before reaching the sand.
Pyramids of the Giza
If it is at the sphinx, there is no chance of missing the pyramids. There are 3 major pyramids in Giza, one of which is the Great Pyramid. Originally, the exterior surfaces of the pyramids were made of smooth polished limestone, but since the weather years have left it, staggered structures remain on top. There are only some limestone on top of the smallest pyramid, but it is also missing from the polished texture due to erosion. The great pyramid is the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
