Thai Food in Thailand

When Thais eats a meal, rice is basically the first thing to remember. Rice is such an important part of Thai food that many people eat rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

How much to eat

When eating Thais, a few dishes were placed in the center of the table with a dish of rice. Food is shared by everyone, serving a spoon. Then they help in rice and put any food on top. Thais rice is eaten with a spoon and a fork.

Rice is generally cooked in an electronic rice cooker. When preparing rice, thais do not add salt or other spices because the Thai food is well seasoned. The main flavors of Thai food are sweet, sour and salty, while Thai ingredients are dominated by Thai herbs and hot chili.

Combining Thai Foods

When Thais eats, they usually have 3-5 foods on the table. They love to combine spicy food with a mild and freshly cooked vegetable sauce.

Spicy Foods

The most popular spicy food you may already know is spicy soup with lemon grass, called tom yum. Other hot foods include green curry chicken or chopped pork with sweet basil and chili. The fried fish is also popular with spicy sauce.

Mild Foods

Both vegetables and meat dishes can be mild. It can be fried pork with garlic and black pepper, fried chicken with ginger, vegetable soup with chopped pork, omelette and mixed vegetables.

Vegetable Sauces

There are many kinds of sauces in Thailand, but the main shrimp-based or coconut milk based. Shrimp paste-based sauce is one of the most popular dishes in Thais and has served as roasted mackerel. The sauce is basically very spicy as the fresh Chilean crumbles and mixes with the other ingredients. Thais eat the food with lots of vegetables, both fresh and cooked.

Coconut milk based sauces vary depending on the main ingredients. The most common are shrimp, salty fish, marinated crab and fermented soybean. Mostly on top of chopped chilean. If you do not like spicy food, you can always ask the cook to put the chili in a cup. Thai food is eaten with fresh vegetables such as cucumber, round Thai eggs, coffee beans and salads.

Thais usually finishes meals with desserts and fruits. Desserts are known to be very sweet due to added sugar. It also has a variety of desserts with fruit. One of the most popular desserts is the sticky rice mango. Because every meal is a combination of a few different foods, fruits and desserts, Thais is of course receiving all the important nutrients.
