People often ask me that the "best" travel document is the one who wants to stay in Thailand for the long term. I usually answer that the best travel document is the one that meets the needs of the carrier. This means that Thai business visas are indeed the most diverse of the various immigration opportunities in Thailand. This does not mean that there is something wrong with Thai education visas and Thai "visas", but these two categories of Thai immigration are not limited to Thai business visas.
The holder of a Thai business visa may obtain a Thai work permit
. The right to work legally in Thailand should not be taken for granted. Obtaining a work permit can be a difficult endeavor, and an improper visa can lead to complexity or completely frustrate the ability to obtain a work permit. The Thai non-immigrant visa does not necessarily give you the right to obtain a work permit. If the reason for obtaining an O passport is based on a marriage based on Thai marriage, it will generally be easier to obtain a permit to work with this type of visa. Otherwise, the Thai Ministry of Labor will be the host who will issue the O-travel staff.
The holder of the Education Visa is essentially prohibited from gaining employment. Theoretically, this limitation can be waived if the visa holder wants to work part-time in Thailand. It is typically assumed that this part-time work will be at the institution where the visa holder is studying.
The B visa clearly states the need for an application for a work permit if the Labor Code is complied with. This privilege should not be overlooked when choosing a travel document for Thailand.
The Thai tourist visa is a great opportunity for those who want to stay in the short term in Thailand, but they may not be able to issue long-term visas. One of the main reasons for this is that the tourist visa usually lasts only 2 months and can be extended for another 15 days. In contrast, the Thai business visa has a 90-day continuous validity, and if a 1-year multiple entry Thai visa is obtained, 4 entries would be required for a 90-day period. Thailand's business visa can be extended for up to 1 year in Thailand.
